OpusLABS

A startup built around human needs and creativity.

OpusLABS is the parent startup for my work. I’m building useful tools, physical experiences, and ideas around the things people need and the ways they create. The work spans products, ongoing research, and open-source experiments.

Start with a human need.
Choose the right form.
Make, learn, and return.

One ambition, many forms.

A need can call for a desktop tool, a tactile wearable, a creative environment, or a material intervention. The medium follows the question. OpusLABS is where I’m building the capacity to move between those forms with care.

Protobench is the primary startup and product within OpusLABS: a workspace for making physical products. Opus is an ongoing research project into emotional and embodied interaction. Velogra is an experimental open-source project for creative coding. Mittee, from my industrial-design studies, shows an earlier approach to human needs through material behavior.

The ambition is a company creating solutions and tools that support human agency, expression, and creativity. Protobench is my primary focus, while research and experiments keep the wider questions open.

The work has a journal.

The OpusLABS publication is where I think through the wider context: emotional meaning in design, companionship and AI, the role of a hybrid designer, and what it means to build broadly.

Those essays are part of the work. They make the assumptions visible and leave space for the company’s direction to evolve as the projects develop.
