Ubi | Last Mile Delivery Truck Tracking System
Data is at the center of every modern logistics centered business. This information is key for finding accurate delivery points and adressing issues regarding damaged goods, theft, loss, and misdeliveries.
Ubi is a hardware solution for use in delivery vehicles in urban micro-logistics contexts that uses AI and machine learning algorithms to aggregate geolocation data for use by customers, drivers, and logistics experts in the warehouses. This solution is achieved in a low cost and efficient manner by using Apple’s Open-source iBeacon protocol. This allows Ubi to ping nearby Apple devices to receive geolocation data. Because of this low powered technology, the battery life for Ubi can last up to 6 months.
This project was done as a competition in collaboration with the Toyota Material Handling department in Europe.
